The house and the area
This beautiful Charentaise house is situated in the little hamlet of Maison Neuve, surrounded by forests, just 20 minutes away from Angoulême. Its location makes it an ideal base for touring and exploring the charms of the Charente. Visit the historic city of Angoulême, with its cultural attractions, shops, restaurants and bars and home to the internationally renowned Bande Dessinée and Ramparts Car Rally. The area around the town of Cognac, just over half an hour away, is home to the famous cognac houses. There are numerous chateaux in the area and many picturesque towns and villages to explore.
For our more active guests, there are four 18-hole courses within easy reach, as well as horse-riding, canoeing and swimming. There are some lovely woodland walks and the coast is less than two hours away.
After a hard day’s sightseeing, shopping or house-hunting, relax on the sunny terrace with a cool drink or select a good book and settle down in our comfortable reading lounge ....
